Car & Vehicle Trailers

A car trailer is a low-sided, ramped trailer built to load and carry a vehicle. Our range covers 4 m, 5 m and 6 m decks on braked single and tandem axles, plus dedicated 3 m flat decks for quads, motorcycles and golf carts.

The whole design brief here is loading angle and stability. Sides drop to 250 mm so nothing fouls a door or a mirror. Decks are 2.0 m wide, which clears the track of a bakkie without hanging the tyres over an edge. Floors are ribbed chassis plate rather than timber, because a car concentrates its whole mass on four small contact patches and a flat deck flexes where a ribbed one does not.

Ramps come two ways. Slide-out ramps stow under the deck and are quicker to deploy on your own. Drop-down ramps give a longer, shallower run-up, which is what you want for anything low or anything that has to be pushed rather than driven.

Axles are braked from the smallest model up. The 4 m single-axle trailer runs an 1,800 kg braked axle on 10-blade leaf springs with a two-ton braked coupler. The 5 m and 6 m tandem trailers double that, and the heavy-duty 5 m runs twin 1,800 kg braked axles with a three-ton coupler and a 2 mm plate frame cover. All of them run 14 inch 195C tyres and carry a side spare-wheel bracket.

The bike, quad and golf cart trailers are a different animal: 3 m flat decks on a single non-braked axle, light enough to move by hand on the jockey stand, with optional twin parking legs and a drop-down loading ramp on the golf cart model.
