The 6m utility trailer is the long-deck double-axle unit in this range, a 6.0 m by 1.8 m multi-purpose trailer plated at 3 000 kg gross. It is built for loads that are long rather than simply heavy: fencing, roof sheeting, timber, piping and building material that will not fit a 4 m deck, carried on twin braked leaf-sprung axles and a steel open-channel ladder-frame chassis.

What a 6m utility trailer is for

Deck length is the whole point of this model. Six metres of floor takes full lengths of steel, timber and sheeting that would overhang a shorter trailer, and it lets a load spread out so the weight sits evenly across both axles rather than piling over the nose. At 1.8 m wide and 3 000 kg GVM, it suits contractors, hardware suppliers and farms that regularly move long, awkward loads and need them tied down flat and legal.

Build and deck

The chassis and A-frame are steel open channel in a ladder-frame layout, sized to resist the flex a long deck is prone to under an uneven load. The floor is a 2.0 mm lipped-channel or plate steel deck, and the trailer is finished in painted 2K Duco. As a multi-purpose unit it runs with removable sides, so the same 6 m deck works flat for long material or sided for loose loads, and lashing points let a long load be secured properly along its length.

Plated at 3 000 kg gross, this trailer needs a tow vehicle with real braked towing capacity and, for most drivers, an EB licence code for the combination. A long trailer also demands attention to how a load is secured and how far it may overhang, both of which sit with the towing driver under the National Road Traffic Act. The supplier publishes no dependable tare, so we confirm the empty mass and payload in writing before you order rather than quote a figure we cannot verify.
