A freezer is not a colder chiller, and treating it as one is how operators end up with a failed compressor in their first summer. Pulling a load from ambient down to minus 18 and holding it there against a Northern Cape afternoon is a fundamentally harder job than holding 4 degrees, and the build has to answer that at three separate points: panel thickness, thermal bridging and compressor class.

Panels run 100 mm of injected polyurethane rather than the 75 mm used on chiller bodies. That extra 25 mm is not a marginal upgrade, it is the difference between a compressor that cycles and one that never stops. Just as important is the thermal break carried through every panel join and corner, because a freezer body without one sweats at the seams, ices up from the inside and slowly loses the capacity you paid for.

The door carries a double perimeter magnetic gasket rather than a single seal, on a cam lock. Interior lining is hygiene-grade stainless with an insulated stainless ceiling and a floor drain fitted with a freeze-resistant plug, so the box can still be washed out without the drain icing solid.

Control is a digital thermostat with a freeze guard, reading out inside and outside, and the alarm covers both high temperature and power loss. Power loss is the one that matters on a freezer: a chiller load survives a few hours without power, a frozen load does not, and knowing at two in the morning rather than at seven is the whole point.
