Work out the tow figures before you buy. A Royal horse box weighs 1 240 kg empty and licences at 3 200 kg gross, so the payload is 1 960 kg. Two horses, tack and feed sit well inside that, but the limit that usually bites is the tow rating of the vehicle and the combination mass allowed on your licence code, not the trailer.
