WhatsApp about this trailerAbout this trailer
Coffee, pancakes, boerewors rolls, airtime and cellphone accessories: the Kiosk Custom is the version of the braked 7 ft body that is ordered around what you intend to sell. Underneath it is the same trailer as the standard kiosk, which is stated plainly here because it matters to the buying decision. The difference is the internal infrastructure, which the builder makes to the application, and TRAILERS SA quotes as part of the order.

The difference is inside, not underneath
Chassis, axle, body dimensions, hatch size and door size are the same as the standard braked kiosk. Nothing in the published specification separates the two. What separates them is that this unit is built around a layout drawn for one trade rather than a general purpose shelf arrangement, and the price step reflects the internal work rather than a bigger or stronger trailer. That is worth knowing before you compare the two prices side by side, because you are not buying more steel. You are buying the counter positions, the equipment mounts, the power runs and the storage that suit one way of trading, and a shelf layout that would otherwise have to be cut in and refitted later at your own cost.
Standard equipment on the body
- Lockable serving hatch, top half an awning and bottom half a counter
- Corrosion resistant steel body and floor with a nonslip washable surface
- Storage tray shelves at the front and along the right side
- Padlockable ventilated nosecone with two air vents and a bracket for two 19 kg gas bottles
- Four roof mounted spring loaded air vents and an internal overhead light
- Insulation clad steel cool box of 230 litres
- Retractable lockable rear step, with a sprung 200 kg step available as an option
- Braked 1800 kg axle, ten blade springs, galvanised Sigma coupler and a spare wheel on a padlockable bracket
Fit outs this body is ordered for
- Mobile coffee bars, with grinder, machine and water supply positioned to the hatch
- Pancake and fast food units, where gas, extraction and counter height drive the layout
- Cold trade, built around the fridge and freezer footprint on the floor
- Dry retail such as airtime, accessories and packaged goods, built around display shelving
- Branded promotional units where the exterior wrap is part of the specification
Payload, gas and licensing
Payload is 725 kg on a tare of 800 kg and a GVM of 1525 kg, and every piece of the custom fit out comes out of that allowance. A coffee build with a machine, a water tank, a battery bank and two 19 kg cylinders adds up quickly, so the finished unit should be weighed before it goes into service. The trailer is braked and must be registered, licensed and roadworthy under the National Road Traffic Act. Trading permits from the municipality are your responsibility.
Where it sits in the range
Three units share this body. The 7 ft Kiosk is the standard build and the cheapest of the three. This one is the same trailer with a bespoke interior. The Special Purpose Kiosk has no hatch at all and two full height doors, for work that is not counter trade. Below all three sit the lighter vendor bodies at 1400 kg GVM. The comparison is easier on the retail and vending trailers page.
How the price works
The figure shown is for the trailer as built, including the hatch, the cool box, the shelving and the nosecone. Custom equipment is charged to your requirement and is not included, so nobody should read this as the cost of a finished shop. Send us a description of the trade, the equipment you already own and the layout you want, using the quote request form, and we will price the trailer and the fit out as one written quotation.
Ordering, delivery and warranty
Free delivery applies nationwide on orders over R20 000 and the conditions are set out on the delivery page. Collection from Hartswater is available on any unit in the range. TRAILERS SA retails these trailers rather than manufacturing them, so the cover is the builder warranty, which we administer on your behalf and explain on the warranty page. Bring us the fault and we deal with the factory.

Questions about this trailer
How is the Kiosk Custom different from the 7 ft Kiosk?
The published trailer specification is identical. The difference is the internal fit out, which is built to your trade rather than to a standard shelf layout.
Is the custom equipment included in the price?
No. The builder notes that custom equipment is to the requirement of the customer and at additional cost. The published figure is for the trailer.
What trades is it usually built for?
Mobile coffee, pancakes and other fast food retailing are the most common, along with cold trade and packaged dry goods. The layout follows the equipment.
How much weight can the fit out add?
Payload is 725 kg on a 1525 kg GVM. Equipment, stock, water and gas all draw on that figure, so weigh the completed unit before trading.
Do I need a permit to trade from it?
Usually yes, and it is your responsibility. Most municipalities licence the pitch rather than the trailer, but the trailer still has to be licensed and roadworthy.
