About this trailer

Developed by the builder for a client in the promotional industry and based on the Royal Horse Box shell, the Big Green Kiosk is not a counter trading unit at all. It is a tandem transporter built to carry a large digital kiosk, the battery powered hydraulic gear that raises it and a battery powered mini forklift to move it, and to let one person load and unload the lot without help. TRAILERS SA retails it from Hartswater. No price is published for it.

Priced on application

There is no published price for this trailer, so none is shown here and none will be guessed at. That is why the page carries no add to cart button and reads as a specification sheet instead. Tell us what you need to carry and how it has to load, using the quote request form, and we will come back in writing with a price for the trailer as specified and for delivery to your address.

Hydraulic ramps and the rear platform

The loading system is what this build is really about. The rear platform pivots down to ground level on a hydraulic circuit and locks in place, and the side ramp uses the same system with gas lift assistance. Both carry extension ramps so a forklift can drive on without grounding out. The hydraulics live in the front nosecone compartment behind a hinged door, which keeps the load area clear, and the whole sequence is designed for one operator rather than two.

Body, doors and load securing

  • Streamlined front nose shaped to cut wind resistance at towing speed
  • Large lockable rear door above the ramp, opening through 270 degrees
  • Lockable front door on the right hand side for access without dropping a ramp
  • Two large windows, one of them in a door with a sliding opening pane
  • Side gate above the side ramp that lowers to form the first stage for the forklift
  • Dedicated storage area at the front of the body for the mini forklift
  • Eight recessed sprung tie down rings set into the floor
  • Stainless steel bullet hinges throughout and padlockable ramp fittings

Chassis, axles and finish

  • Tandem axles of 1800 kg each on a 2165 mm track, riding on rubber suspension
  • Alko Trailco coupler and axles with run in brakes
  • 195 x 14 inch wheels with a lockable spare wheel holder on the mudguard
  • Double 200 mm jockey wheel and 310 mm of ground clearance
  • Robust chassis, A frame and floor plates
  • Rigidised zinc galvanised or electro galvanised steel body, prime coated and finished in green

Payload, licensing and the tow vehicle

GVM is 3200 kg on a tare of 1240 kg, leaving 1960 kg of payload, which is more than every other unit in this category put together carries individually. That rating also puts it in a different licensing bracket: it is a braked tandem well over 750 kg, so registration, licensing and a roadworthy are compulsory, and the tow vehicle must be rated for a 3200 kg braked trailer rather than for the tare. Check the vehicle handbook against the National Road Traffic Act before committing.

Not a counter trading unit

Everything else in this category serves customers through a hatch or a door. This one carries a display and the machinery that erects it, which is a promotions and exhibitions job rather than a retail one. If you want to sell over a counter, the retail and vending trailers category has the kiosk and vendor bodies for that, and the Special Purpose Kiosk is the closest thing to a lockable mobile room. Use this one when the load is the product.

Ordering, delivery and warranty

Interiors and load specific fittings are built per order, so racking, mounts, power and branding are quoted against what the trailer has to carry. Free delivery applies nationwide on orders over R20 000, with the conditions on the delivery page, and collection from Hartswater is available. We retail these trailers rather than build them, so the cover is the builder warranty, which we administer on your behalf and set out on the warranty page.

Questions about this trailer

Why is there no price on the Big Green Kiosk?

The builder does not publish a retail price for this model, so we do not display one. Send your requirement through our quote form and we will price it in writing.

Can one person load it?

That was the design brief. The rear platform and the side ramp are hydraulic assisted, with gas lift help on the side ramp, so the ramp operations do not need a second pair of hands.

What can it carry?

Payload is 1960 kg on a 3200 kg GVM. The original build carried a large digital kiosk, hydraulic equipment and a battery powered mini forklift.

Is it a vending trailer?

No. It has no serving hatch and no counter. It is a promotional and exhibition transporter built on the Royal Horse Box shell.

What tow vehicle does it need?

One rated for a braked trailer at 3200 kg, not at the 1240 kg tare. Check the towing capacity in your vehicle handbook before ordering.

Need a trailer quote?

Tell us the load, the tow vehicle and the town. We come back with a spec and a price.
