WhatsApp about this trailerAbout this trailer
The 8m flatbed trailer is the longest open deck in the range, a double-axle 8.0 m by 2.4 m platform plated at 3 500 kg gross on twin 2 500 kg axles. It is a commercial load carrier for the longest, heaviest loads a light-vehicle combination can legally tow: structural steel, long timber, machinery and bulk palletised freight.
What the 8m flatbed trailer is built for
Eight metres of open, 2.4 m-wide deck puts this trailer at the top of the range for sheer capacity. Full-length steel and timber ride supported end to end, wide loads sit square, and the open deck loads from any side or from above. At 3 500 kg GVM on heavy 2 500 kg axles it carries the mass to fill that deck, which is what steel merchants, builders and plant operators need for their biggest regular loads.
Build and deck
The floor is a 2.0 mm steel plate on a heavy steel ladder-frame chassis, with the wheels under the trailer to keep the full 2.4 m width usable. It runs twin 2 500 kg leaf-sprung axles, is braked, and is finished in painted 2K Duco. Multiple lashing points along the length let a long, heavy load be tied down properly, which on an 8 m open deck is not optional.

Payload, length and licensing
Plated at 3 500 kg gross, this trailer needs a tow vehicle with real braked towing capacity and, for most drivers, an EB licence code for the combination. An 8 m deck also brings overhang and load-securing duties that sit with the towing driver under the National Road Traffic Act. The supplier publishes no dependable tare, so we confirm the empty mass and payload in writing before you order, and will talk through the tow requirements with you.
Where it sits in the range
This is the top double-axle flatbed. The 6.0 m flatbed is shorter at 3 000 kg. For the same 8 m deck on three axles and better load spread, the triple-axle 8 m flatbed is the alternative. Compare the range under double-axle cargo trailers.

Questions about this trailer
What is the 8m flatbed trailer for?
The longest, heaviest loads a light-vehicle combination can legally tow: structural steel, long timber, machinery and bulk palletised freight on an open 8.0 m x 2.4 m deck.
What licence do I need?
At 3 500 kg GVM most drivers need an EB code and the tow vehicle needs matching braked towing capacity. We check both with you before you order.
What is the payload?
It is plated at 3 500 kg on twin 2 500 kg axles. The supplier publishes no reliable tare, so we confirm empty mass and payload in writing before you order.
Double or triple axle?
This is the double-axle version. A triple-axle 8 m flatbed is also available, spreading the load over three axles for better weight distribution.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes, free on orders over R20 000, with collection from Hartswater available.
