7 ft Kiosk (braked)

Two operators, a fridge and a counter 2205 mm wide: that is the working brief the 7 ft Kiosk is built around. It is the entry point into the braked kiosk range at TRAILERS SA, a steel body of 2790 by 1530 mm on a braked 1800 kg axle, with the serving hatch cut into the full length of one side. We retail it from Hartswater and deliver it anywhere in the country.

The hatch, the awning and the counter

One panel does three jobs. Closed and padlocked it is a security shutter. Opened, the top half lifts to become an awning over the customer and the bottom half drops to become the counter, 2205 mm of it, which is enough frontage for two people to serve side by side without queueing over each other. Height is 840 mm. Because the hatch takes up most of one side, the shelving is arranged along the front and the right, keeping the serving wall clear.

What comes with the body

• Corrosion resistant steel body and floor, clad in a nonslip surface for washing down
• Room on the floor for a fridge, a freezer or both
• Insulation clad steel cool box of 230 litres, about 180 cans of 340 ml plus ice packs
• Storage tray shelves at the front and along the right side
• Padlockable ventilated nosecone, isolated from the serving area, with two air vents
• Gas bracket in the nosecone for two 19 kg bottles
• Four roof mounted spring loaded air vents and an internal overhead light

Chassis, brakes and wheels

• Braked 1800 kg axle of 1830 mm on ten blade leaf springs
• Galvanised Sigma auto reverse coupler and run in brakes
• 14 inch six stud wheels on 195 x 14 inch tyres, one spare on a padlockable bracket
• Three heavy duty adjustable legs, on the two rear corners and the A frame
• Retractable lockable step at the padlockable rear door
• Adjustable 200 mm jockey wheel, LED lights and a caravan plug inlet at the right rear

Payload and licensing

GVM is 1525 kg and tare is 800 kg, so 725 kg is available for equipment and stock. A commercial fridge, a freezer, two gas cylinders and a loaded cool box will eat into that faster than most buyers expect, so weigh the unit once it is fitted. The trailer is braked and sits well over the 750 kg mark, which means registration, licensing and a roadworthy in the normal way under the National Road Traffic Act. Your municipal trading permit is a separate application.

Against the Custom and the Special Purpose versions

The published trailer specification here is identical to the Kiosk Custom. What separates them is the interior: this one is the standard build, the Custom is ordered around a bespoke internal layout. The Special Purpose Kiosk drops the hatch entirely for a second full height door. This is the least expensive way into the braked kiosk body, and the version to choose when a standard counter and shelves are all the trade needs. What the price does not cover

The published figure buys the trailer, its standard shelving, the cool box and the hatch. It does not buy a finished shop. The electrical switchboard is listed as optional on this model, and counters beyond the hatch, sinks, gas installation, refrigeration, signage and vinyl wrap are all quoted per order. Free delivery applies anywhere in South Africa on orders over R20 000, with the conditions set out on the delivery page, and you are welcome to collect from our yard in Hartswater instead.
