3.5 Ton Double Axle Cattle Trailer 4.0m

Topping the tandem range, the 3.5 ton cattle trailer is the heaviest livestock unit we list, a 4.0 m by 1.8 m double-axle built and plated at 3 500 kg gross for commercial herds and the largest animals. It carries the same full-height rails, three-gate handling and wash-out grid floor as the lighter models, on running gear rated for the top of the range.

What the 3.5 ton cattle trailer is for

This is a trailer for operators who move stock as a business rather than occasionally. At 3 500 kg GVM it is plated a full tonne above the entry 2.3 ton unit on the same deck, so the limit you reach is the licensed mass, not the floor. Commercial cattle, large game and mixed heavy loads that would push a lighter trailer over its plate travel inside this one with margin, which is what keeps a working trailer legal at a weighbridge and safe under braking.

Handling, gates and floor

The handling layout is built for volume. Gates hang from above on bearings so they glide under a full load, with a rear gate, a middle gate to split the deck into two pens, and a side gate for a third loading and escape point. The floor is a 2.0 mm lipped-channel deck with drain strips and a removable grid so effluent drains and the deck washes out. Wheels sit outside the body to keep the full 1.8 m interior width, and the 1.8 m rails and headboard are plated for the first 300 mm to keep legs and hooves inside the panelling.

Payload, GVM and licensing

Plated at 3 500 kg gross, this is a licence-code and tow-vehicle decision as much as a trailer choice. Most drivers need an EB code, and the towing vehicle must carry the braked towing capacity and combination mass the load demands. Because the supplier does not publish a dependable tare or full running-gear detail for this model, we confirm the empty mass, the axle rating and the payload in writing before you order, rather than print figures we cannot verify. This is the top of the cattle line. The 3 ton unit shares the deck and gate layout but plates 500 kg lower, and the 2.3 ton models below it suit lighter, smaller loads.
