WhatsApp about this trailerAbout this trailer
This double axle dropside trailer is a 3.0 m by 1.8 m unit plated at 2 300 kg gross, with 300 mm drop sides and a matching rear gate that hinge down flat for loading and lock up to hold a load. It is the middle ground between an open flatbed and a fully sided trailer: sides when you want them, a clear deck when you do not.
What a double axle dropside trailer gives you
Drop sides are the practical answer for mixed loads. Fold them down and the trailer loads like a flatbed from any side, by hand or by forklift; fold them up and lock them and the 300 mm sides keep sand, rubble, boxes or loose material on the deck. That flexibility is why dropsides are the default working trailer for builders, farms and hire fleets that carry a bit of everything rather than one kind of load.
Build and deck
The deck is a 1.6 mm steel-plate floor on a steel ladder-frame chassis, with the wheels under the trailer to keep the full 1.8 m width. The 300 mm drop sides and rear gate are closed with plate on a steel frame, hinged to fold flat. It runs twin 1 600 kg leaf-sprung axles, is braked, and is finished in painted 2K Duco.

Payload, GVM and licensing
Plated at 2 300 kg gross on 1 600 kg axles and braked as standard, this trailer needs a tow vehicle with matching braked towing capacity. The supplier publishes no dependable tare, so we confirm the empty mass and payload in writing before you order. Securing a load, sides up or down, sits with the towing driver under the National Road Traffic Act.
Where it sits in the range
This is the compact dropside. The 4.0 m dropside is longer and wider, and the 6.0 m unit longer again at higher plating. If you never need sides, the matching 3.0 m flatbed is the open-deck version. Compare the range under double-axle cargo trailers.
