A 4m cattle trailer gives you the length to move a larger group of animals in one trip, and this 2.3 ton tandem is the entry point to the long-body range. It runs a 4.0 m by 1.8 m deck on two leaf-sprung axles rated at 1 600 kg each, with full-height stock rails and a combination swing-and-slide rear gate that moves cleanly whether the trailer is loaded or empty.

What a 4m cattle trailer gives you

The step from a 3.0 m to a 4.0 m body is a full metre of floor, which is the difference between crowding stock and giving them room to stand square on a long haul. Animals travel better with space to brace against the motion of the trailer, and a metre of extra deck also lets you carry mixed sizes without the smaller beasts being pushed around. On a 1.8 m width, the 4.0 m deck suits a working cattle or game operation that regularly moves several head at once rather than the odd single animal.

Gate, floor and handling

Loading is through a swing-and-slide combination gate at the rear, running on rollers at the bottom so it moves cleanly under load rather than dragging on the deck. The floor is a 2.0 mm lipped-channel deck with drain strips, and the wheels sit outside the body so the inside keeps its full 1.8 m width. Rails and headboard stand a full 1.8 m with the first 300 mm closed off in plate on a 50 mm square-tube frame, keeping legs and hooves inside the panelling where an animal leans on it. It is a layout built for daily farm work rather than the occasional move.

Payload, GVM and licensing

The trailer is plated at 2 300 kg gross on axles rated at 1 600 kg each. The supplier does not publish a dependable tare for this model, so we confirm the empty mass and the payload in writing before you order rather than quote a figure we cannot verify. At 2 300 kg GVM it sits well over the 750 kg braking line and is braked as standard; the tow vehicle needs the braked towing capacity and a licence code covering the combination, which the National Road Traffic Act sets out. We will check your vehicle rating with you before you commit.

Where it sits in the range

This is the 2.3 ton long-body option. If you move fewer animals, the upgraded 3.0 m unit is shorter and adds a middle splitting gate.
